"THE GLOBALIST NEW WORLD ORDER"*

Dearest Citizen of the World,

I believe the time has come to reveal to you some of the perplexities you
have faced in recent decades. It is well for you to understand some of these
things so that you might know how to behave in the New Order now taking shape on
the earth. We want you to be able to become fully involved and integrated into
our new society. After all, this is for your best interest if you will do.

First of all, it is well that you understand some of our purposes so that you
may more fully co-operate. I cannot tell you the hard times you will face if you
resist us. We have ways of dealing with resisters. I am only telling you this
now, since it is much too late to turn things around. The days of putting a stop
to us have long since past. We have full control of the earth and its finance,
along with the major media propaganda, and there is simply no way any nation or
power can defeat us.

We have eyes in every level of government in every nation of the world. We
know what is being planned, for our ears and eyes are ever present.

State secrets are fully known to us. China recently accused the media in the
U.S. of lying about Kosovo. Oh, you silly people, of course we lie*. In this way
we can keep the people unbalanced and always facing controversy which is very
helpful to us. Have you not seen the talk show spectacle? Some of you believe we
are the liberals and the good people are the conservatives. In reality, both
serve our purposes. Each camp merely serves with the stamp of our approval but
they are not allowed to present the real issues. By creating controversy on all
levels, no one knows what to do. So, in all of this confusion, we go ahead and
accomplish what we want with no hindrance.

Consider the President of the United States. Even though he regularly breaks
every known check on his power, no one can stop him. He goes ahead and does
whatever we want him to do anyway. The Congress has no power to stop him.

He does what we want since he knows if he does not, because of his rather
dark character, we can have him removed in a moment's time. Is not that a rather
brilliant strategy on our part? You cannot take us to court because you can't
see us and the courts are our servants as well. We run everything, yet, you do
not know who to attack. I must say this hidden hand is wonderfully devised and
without any known historical precedent on this scale. We rule the world and the
world cannot even find out who is ruling them.

This is truly a wonderful thing. In our media we present before you exactly
what it is we want you to do. Then, as if in a flash, our little servants obey.
We can send American or European troops to wherever we like, whenever we like,
and for whatever purpose we like, and you dutifully go about our business. How
much more evidence do you need? We can make you desire to leave your homes and
family and go to war merely at our command. We only need to present some
nonsense to you from the president's desk or on the evening news and we can get
you all fired up to do whatever we like. You can do nothing but what we put
before you.

YOUR VAIN RESISTANCE

When any of you seek to resist us, we have ways of making you look ridiculous
as we have done with your militia movement. We have delighted to use this
movement to show the world how impotent any resistance is. They look so silly
marching around with their guns as if they were some match for our military.
Look at what we did near Waco. Did the Davidian's little store of weapons help
them? We have generously taxed you and used that money to make such
sophisticated weapons you can in no way compete. Your own money has served to
forge the chains we bind you with, since we are in control of all money.

Some of you think you may escape by buying some land in the country and
growing a garden. Let me remind you that you still pay us ground rent. Oh, you
may call it property taxes, but it still goes to us. You see, you need money no
matter what you do. If you fail to pay your ground rent to us, we will take your
land and sell it to someone who will pay us. Do you think we cannot do this?

And with your ground rent we pay for the indoctrination of your children in
the public schools we have set up. We want them to grow up well trained into the
system of our thinking. Your children will learn what we want them to learn,
when we want them to learn it, and you pay for it through your ground rent.

Those funds are also used for other projects we have in mind and our
contractors are paid handsomely for their work. You may doubt that we own your
children, or have such control, but you will find that we do. We can declare
that you abuse your children when you spank them and have them confiscated.

If they do not show up for school indoctrination, we can accuse you of
neglect, thereby, giving them to us. Your children are not yours. They are ours.
You must inoculate them, you must bring them to our hospitals if we decree or we
will take them from you. You know this and we know this.

Through our electronic commerce we are able to see where you are, what you
are buying and how much you have to buy things with. Where do you suppose we
come up with our monthly financial statistics? Through the Internet and other
sources we can even know how you think and what you say. It is not especially
important to us what you believe as long as you do what we say. Your beliefs are
nonsense anyway*. But if you think you have a following, and we perceive that
you might be somewhat dangerous to our agenda, we have ways to deal with you.

We have a Pandora's box of mischief with which to snare you. We can have you
in court so long you will never get out. We can easily drain away all your
assets over one pretext or another. We have an inexhaustible fund with which to
draw from to pay our lawyers. These lawyers are paid by you in the form of
taxes.

You do not have this vast supply of wealth. We know how to divide and
conquer. Have we not brought down rulers of countries through our devices? Do
you think your tiny self will be any match for us?

YOUR VAIN ORGANIZATIONS

And, let us consider your religions and the "moral majority." The
"moral majority" is neither moral nor is it in the majority. We have
delighted to use this wet noodle of a movement to make ridiculous the Christian
faith. The silly men who run that organization always end up with egg on their
faces. We have always put them in defense of themselves as we have so
successfully done with the NRA. We can make it seem by our media propaganda that
the National Rifle Association is actually the New Radical Attackers.

Have we not turned the American conservative movement on its ear? If it
serves our purposes we can use the conservatives to turn the liberals on their
ear. It makes no difference to us but it serves to make you believe there are
two sides struggling for their particular position. This helps to make things
seem fair and free since everyone has a voice. Actually, there is only one side
now with all kinds of masks on, but you are unable to penetrate our purposes.

You see, we can do whatever we like and you can do nothing about it. Does it
not seem reasonable that you simply obey and serve us? Otherwise, you get eaten
up in the resistance you suppose will liberate you.

You cannot be liberated. Imagine how you can. We supply your fuel for your
cars. We can turn it off whenever we like claiming that there is some sort of
fuel shortage. What if your car breaks down? You cannot get parts for it without
us. We supply all the money you use. At any whim of our desire we can stop the
money supply or cause a complete crash all together. We can then order the
president to declare all money worthless and that we will have to have new
money. All of your stashes of cash will go up in smoke in a moment's time.

Don't you need food? If necessary, we can cause a trucker's strike which
would stop deliveries of food to your local store. We can starve you whenever we
like. You only have food because we have provided it to you from our table.

During the great depression we controlled the food. We heaped mountains of
food behind fences and let it rot. The hungry were then made to work in our
labour camps even though there was enough and more to feed them. Do you really
think you can beat us? You say you will hoard gold coins so you will still have
money in the time of the crash. We can simply pass a law which outlaws the
possession of gold as we have done in the past. If we find gold in your
possession, we would simply confiscate it and put you in prison for breaking the
law.

While in prison you would be required to work in one of our prison
industries. We have so formed a picture of the labour camps in our prisons these
days that no one seems to object to them. We tell people that murderers should
pay for their own keep.

No one seems to consider that we have the power to put tomato growers there
also. We can pass laws that prohibit gardens and then make up some scientific
reason why you may only buy food from our sources. If someone sees you growing
tomatoes, they will report you to us and then we will have you in our fields
working for us. Oh, silly nationalists, there is no escape for you, for since
long before you were born, we were planning your capture. Your teachers and
ministers have been forming your thoughts for us for generations now. You have
no idea how to pull out of our influence short of suicide. Go ahead and commit
suicide, it will only help us to deal with the excessive population. You cannot
hurt us, find us, or even imagine what we are up to.

I am throwing you these few crumbs only so that you may, if you have a little
good sense, obey and follow our orders.

YOUR CONTROLLED MIND

We run Hollywood. The movies such as Terminator and Armageddon, along with a
great host of others, were simply created to get you thinking according to our
directions. You have been made to delight in violence so that when we send you
off to kill some bad man we have put before you, you move without a whimper.

We have placed violent arcade games in your malls to prepare your young minds
in the art of battle. We have made you to view our armies and police as the good
forces and you submit to things that were unthinkable just a few decades ago.
Our artful programs, are all designed to help you submit and even help the New
World Order.

Star Trek, and other such creations, have taught you to simply obey orders
from the new international rulers. Oh, silly people, you thought you were being
entertained, while you were actually being educated. Dare I use the words,
"brainwashed" or "mind control?" By the way, have you seen
the new Star Wars?

What a masterpiece of mental manipulation. Humans confer with nondescript
beasts of all shapes and sizes and they confer in English. I wonder where those
space beasts learned English. Oh, the simpleness of the mind of the citizen. He
never considers he is being taken into fairyland. We have placed advertisements
for Star Wars almost everywhere you go. You will find them in Wal-Mart, K-Mart,
Taco Bell and a host of our institutions of commerce. There is something we want
you to learn from this movie. Or, perhaps it could be said, there is something
we do not want you to learn, from Episodes 4-6. Either way, we will have what we
want in the whole affair.

Of course, to keep you off guard we have instructed our elected officials to
appear to be correcting the evil of our violence. President Clinton is now
speaking against violence in Hollywood movies. This will not solve the problem,
but will only make the people believe the problem is being worked on. Sex and
violence are the very best powers to use to help us gain our advantage. How the
people loathe to give up their sex and violence, so we place all they want
before them. In this way, we keep them so occupied they do not have the
integrity or brain power to deal with the really important matters which are
left entirely in our hands. President Clinton has been very helpful to us. We
knew of what character he was before we placed him as president. Exposing him
was very helpful in adjusting the moral habits of the youth downward. This is to
our advantage.

Even more agreeable to us were the vain efforts of those who thought they
could remove him against our will. He is useful to us and he will not be removed
by anyone until we are ready to have him removed. Excuse me if I seem to be
mocking your system of beliefs, but they are rather outdated. Have you no eyes
to see your vain liberties and your righteous pontifications are nothing before
us? You can only do what we say you can do. We remove presidents when we are
ready and the leader we set up will be there until it serves us to have another.

At that time we place our proposed leader before you and you vote for what we
want. In that way we give you the vain voting exercise in the belief you had
something to do with placing your president in office.

We use the nations for what we want to use them for. Everyone knows that they
must yield to us or die. Fortunately, we have had a few resisters such as Saddam
and Milosevic that have been helpful in showing the world leaders what we will
do to them if they do not submit.

There is only glory in following our purposes and doing what we say. If one
does not, there will be such a sad and tragic result. I would really have you
spared of such an end. But, then, again, if you are not spared, it is of no
consequence to us. We will use you to alleviate some of the overpopulation
problem.

YOUR SILLY REBELLION AGAINST OUR DOMINION

Some of you have thought you could stop us by placing a bomb in one of our
abortion clinics or in a government building. Silly souls! How can that hurt us?

All that does is give us an example to use so that we might place more
controls and heavy burdens on the population. We love it when you rebel and blow
something up. You are our reason for making more laws against all those things
which might contribute to your freedom from us. If someone did not blow
something up on occasion, we would have no justification in placing more hedges
about you. Can't you see how impossible it is for you to resist us? The more you
wriggle, the more we squeeze.

Our kingdom is the kingdom of money. Excuse me, but I must confess that we
are the rulers of the kingdom of non-money. You must see the humour in that
statement. We have given you a piece of paper or some numbers on a computer
screen that we have termed money. It is backed up by nothing and proven by
nothing but what we say it is. We create it from nothing, we print it, we loan
it, we give it its value, we take its value away. All things that have to do
with money are in our hands. Think of it, what is it that you can do against us
without money? If you try to resist, we can cancel your credit or freeze your
accounts. Your cash is easily confiscated. We have made so many rules in the
realm of living that you cannot live without money.

Camp on government land and you must move in two weeks. You cannot grow much
of a garden in two weeks. Many of our wilderness trails are entered by permit
only. We have passed laws that do not allow you to live in trailers over a
certain period without moving to another location. Have you not thought it
ridiculous that we will allow a man to live in a box full time but we will not
allow a man to live in an RV full time unless he is in a taxpaying campground?

OUR UNFATHOMABLE MYSTERIES

Our recent war in Serbia has many purposes to it but we do not speak of these
things openly. We let the talk show hosts blather all sorts of nonsense but none
of it touches the core. First of all, there is a wealth of natural resources in
Kosovo that we must have complete control of. Kosovo has large supplies of
uranium in its soil and uranium is very helpful to our regime. Also, it suits us
to keep all such minerals out of the hands of potential enemies.

Milosevic has not been helpful in giving those resources into our hands so we
simply make things difficult for him until he does. Even now victory over
Yugoslavia is imminent.

We are reducing that proud nation to the level of humility we require from
all people. After the war, if Mr. Milosevic does not sufficiently humble
himself, we will take him to the world court charged with war crimes. We made up
that term; rather ingenious, don't you think? How could there be such a thing as
a war crime? The very nature of war is that the rules are off. It is so
entertaining to watch the nations try to fight war according to the laws we have
placed before them. The only war crime there really is only involves the crime
of being against us. Anyone against us is violating our law. As you have seen
when someone is for us we do not care what they do. Was not Nelson Mandela a
bomb-toting terrorist who killed many of his enemies? We made a hero of him.

We observe no laws when it comes to war. We do what we want, when we want and
where we want. We can starve nations to death, we can ruin civilians and any
other horror for which we would take our enemies to court. Look at our example.

We bomb Serbia out of its wits, bomb Kosovans out of their homes, poison
their rivers and streams, turn off their electricity making a grand crisis in
that country, and then we masterfully make it appear it is all Mr. Milosevic's
fault and he needs to go to court for it. It is the same way we made our inferno
at Waco look like Mr. Koresh's fault. Then there was our chief villain, Saddam
with all of his weapons of mass destruction. Bad men are a dime a dozen and we
can conjure one up whenever it suits us. This is really quite funny when you
think of it. I am not one who is usually given to humour, but I do catch myself
laughing sometimes at the absolute absurdity of the notions we place before you
and you readily accept.

Do you wonder that the leaders of the world tremble at our presence? They
know they have no power except the power we give them. We have no fear of Russia
or China for we are already in full control of their system of things. China
knows that we can freeze any number of its corporations in America and all of
its capital at the stroke of a pen.

We want you to be in the system. When you are buying a house, we not only
receive the tax revenue to use for our purposes, but we gain large increases
from the interest on the loan. You may pay for your house two or three times
over from the interest alone. The interest is also taxed which is again placed
for use in those sectors of influence we choose.

We do not want you to escape free and that is why we have made it as we have.
You are our property. We will not permit you to buy or sell unless you submit to
our mark of authority*. If you go to court against us, we will wear you out
there and in the end you will lose. If you use violence, we will end up having
you in one of our labour camps, more specifically called prison industries. You
need our money, our entertainments, our fuel, and our utilities to function and
if you don't have them, you feel deprived. By this, you are made to yield to our
will.

N.W.O. - THE SECRET COVENANT

An illusion it will be, so large, so vast, it will escape their perception.
Those who will see it will be thought of as insane.
We will create separate fronts to prevent them from seeing the connection between us.

We will behave as if we are not connected to keep the illusion alive. Our goal will be accomplished one drop at a time so as to never bring suspicion upon ourselves. This will also prevent them from seeing the changes as they occur.
We will always stand above the relative field of their experience for we know the secrets of the absolute.
We will work together always and will remain bound by blood and secrecy. Death will come to he who speaks.
We will keep their lifespan short and their minds weak while pretending to do the opposite.
We will use our knowledge of science and technology in subtle ways so they will never see what is happening.
We will use soft metals, aging accelerators and sedatives in food and water, and also in the air.
They will be blanketed by poisons everywhere they turn.
The soft metals will cause them to lose their minds. We will promise to find a cure from our many fronts, yet we will feed them more poison.
The poisons will be absorbed through their skin and mouths, and they will destroy their minds and reproductive systems.
From all this, their children will be born dead, and we will conceal this information.
The poisons will be hidden in everything that surrounds them, in what they drink, eat, breathe and wear.

We must be ingenious in dispensing the poisons for they can see far.
We will teach them that the poisons are good, with fun images and musical tones.
Those they look up to will help. We will enlist them to push our poisons.
They will see our products being used in film and will grow accustomed to them and will never know their true effect.
When they give birth we will inject poisons into the blood of their children and convince them it’s for their help.
We will start early on, when their minds are young, we will target their children with what children love most, sweet things.
When their teeth decay we will fill them with metals that will kill their mind and steal their future.
When their ability to learn has been affected, we will create medicine that will make them sicker and cause other diseases for which we will create yet more medicine.
We will render them docile and weak before us by our power.
They will grow depressed, slow and obese; and when they come to us for help, we will give them more poison.
We will focus their attention toward money and material goods so they may never connect with their inner self. We will distract them with fornication, external pleasures and games so they may never be one with the oneness of it all.
Their minds will belong to us and they will do as we say. If they refuse we shall find ways to implement mind-altering technology into their lives. We will use fear as our weapon.
We will establish their governments and establish opposites within. We will own both sides.
We will always hide our objective but carry out our plan.
They will perform the labor for us and we shall prosper from their toil.
Our families will never mix with theirs. Our blood must be pure always, for it is the way.
We will make them kill each other when it suits us.
We will keep them separated from the oneness by dogma and religion.
We will control all aspects of their lives and tell them what to think and how.
We will guide them kindly and gently letting them think they are guiding themselves.
We will foment animosity between them through our factions.
When a light shall shine among them, we shall extinguish it by ridicule, or death, whichever suits us best.
We will make them rip each other's hearts apart and kill their own children.
We will accomplish this by using hate as our ally, and anger as our friend.
The hate will blind them totally, and never shall they see that from their conflicts we emerge as their rulers. They will be busy killing each other.
They will bathe in their own blood and kill their neighbors for as long as we see fit.
We will benefit greatly from this, for they will not see us, for they cannot see us.
We will continue to prosper from their wars and their deaths.
We shall repeat this over and over until our ultimate goal is accomplished.
We will continue to make them live in fear and anger though images and sounds.
We will use all the tools we have to accomplish this.
The tools will be provided by their labor.
We will make them hate themselves and their neighbors.
We will always hide the divine truth from them, that we are all one. This they must never know!
They must never know that color is an illusion; they must always think they are not equal.
Drop by drop, drop by drop we will advance our goal.
We will take over their land, resources and wealth to exercise total control over them.
We will deceive them into accepting laws that will steal the little freedom they will have.
We will establish a money system that will imprison them forever, keeping them and their children in debt.
When they shall band together, we shall accuse them of crimes and present a different story to the world for we shall own all the media.
We will use our media to control the flow of information and their sentiment in our favor.
When they shall rise up against us we will crush them like insects, for they are less than that.
They will be helpless to do anything for they will have no weapons.
We will recruit some of their own to carry out our plans, we will promise them eternal life, but eternal life they will never have for they are not of us.
The recruits will be called “initiates” and will be indoctrinated to believe false rites of passage to higher realms. Members of these groups will think they are one with us never knowing the truth. They must never learn this truth for they will turn against us.
For their work they will be rewarded with earthly things and great titles, but never will they become immortal and join us, never will they receive the light and travel the stars.
They will never reach the higher realms, for the killing of their own kind will prevent passage to the realm of enlightenment. This they will never know.
The truth will be hidden in their face, so close they will not be able to focus on it until it’s too late.
Oh yes, so grand the illusion of freedom will be, that they will never know they are our slaves.
When all is in place, the reality we will have created for them will own them. This reality will be their prison. They will live in self-delusion.
When our goal is accomplished a new era of domination will begin.
Their minds will be bound by their beliefs, the beliefs we have established from time immemorial.
But if they ever find out they are our equal, we shall perish then. This they must never know.
If they ever find out that together they can vanquish us, they will take action.
They must never, ever find out what we have done, for if they do, we shall have no place to run, for it will be easy to see who we are once the veil has fallen. Our actions will have revealed who we are and they will hunt us down and no person shall give us shelter.
This is the secret covenant by which we shall live the rest of our present and future lives, for this reality will transcend many generations and life spans.
This covenant must never, ever be known to exist. It must never, ever be written or spoken of, for if it is, the consciousness it will spawn will release the fury of the prime creator upon us, and we shall be cast to the depths from whence we came and remain there until the end time of infinity itself.
This covenant is sealed by blood, our blood– We, the ones who from heaven to earth came.

A 'Grande Obra' é um processo de iluminação da alma humana até um estado de apoteose. Estará concluído quando toda a raça humana alcançar esse estado. Os Mistérios adoptaram o ideal Platónico, em que a humanidade é um organismo singular. Os aderentes vêm a humanidade como um ser colectivo, onde o individual se deve sacrificar em benefício do todo. É necessário referir aqui que a maioria dos membros destas sociedades secretas não tem a menor ideia da verdadeira natureza das suas sociedades, igrejas ou lojas. Os altos iniciados são denominados de 'adeptos' ou 'guardadores dos segredos de todas as eras'. Podem pertencer a qualquer religião, quando integram a sociedade, no entanto quando chegam aos mais altos escalões e se tornam adeptos, é assegurado que todos sejam praticantes da mesma religião.
Uma coisa a reter, no que concerne a qualquer uma destas sociedades, é que ao mais alto nível elas são todas iguais. Todos os adeptos pertencem colectivamente àquilo que é conhecido por os 'Illuminati', que significa 'os iluminados'. Os Illuminati são aqueles que progrediram através de diversas iniciações, no ramo particular das Escolas do Mistério, às quais pertenceram até acederem ao grau de verdadeira iluminação. Assim, estas pessoas na verdade pensam que aquilo que estão a praticar é correcto, tal qual Adolfo Hitler pensou que o que fazia era certo e para o bem da humanidade.

Se estudarmos o remoto séc.XIII descobriremos que os Cavaleiros do Templo eram financeiros. Os Financeiros Internacionais dos nossos dias ainda são Cavaleiros Templários.

A prática desta religião é feita em segredo, e os dogmas e intenções são escondidos através de simbologia. A pessoa média acede ao exotérico, ao exterior, ou ao significado literal dos símbolos, enquanto que o Adepto, Iniciado ou Iluminado compreende o lado esotérico, o significado escondido do símbolo. Por exemplo, se estudarmos a história da antiguidade podemo-nos aperceber que todas as culturas ancestrais praticavam a adoração ao sol. A pessoa média (o não iniciado que é denominado de 'profano') vê o sol de forma exotérica, e adora-o como deus. Enquanto que o Alto Sacerdote compreende o significado esotérico, e entende que o sol é apenas o símbolo que representa uma verdade superior.
Na verdade o sol representa o intelecto, e isso é a doutrina ou o segredo da Religião do Mistério. A lua representa a Igreja da Escola do Mistério, e as estrelas representam os iniciados. A lua não tem luz própria porque recebe a sua luz do sol. A Igreja dos Mistérios é ela mesma iluminada pelo INTELECTO. Os personagens das histórias das civilizações antigas representavam estes objectos, por exemplo: Osiris e Isis, no Egipto, representavam o sol e a lua respectivamente.
O filme "2001, Odisseia no Espaço" era uma mensagem esotérica para o corpo de iniciados. Muito poucas pessoas compreenderam o seu verdadeiro significado, que não era destinado aos profanos. Mas os adeptos da Escola dos Mistérios entenderam-no perfeitamente.

As antigas histórias da mitologia Babilónica, Egípcia ou Grega têm mais significado do que a maior parte das pessoas julga. Os arqueólogos e historiadores apenas vêm o lado exotérico e, dessa maneira, falham redondamente no seu entendimento.
Quando George Bush referiu "Mil pontos de luz" (Thousand Points of Light), no seu discurso em 1991, estava usando uma linguagem simbólica que se referia ao corpo de iniciados. Quando Bill Clinton no seu 'State of the Union Adress' falava de: "setting sun and then the dawning of the new era" (o pôr de sol e a madrugada de uma nova era), estava também usando linguagem simbólica. A pessoa comum ouviu o sentido exotérico dessas declarações, enquanto que os iniciados em todo o mundo sorriram, compreendendo o seu verdadeiro significado. É bom de ver que George Bush é membro da Order of Skull and Bones Society. Bill Clinton tem o 33º Grau da Loja Maçónica. Bob Dole, um Republicano, tem o 33º Grau da Franco-Maçonaria. Por isso, não importa na verdade a quem se dá o voto, porque em realidade está-se a votar para os Mistérios. Estes indivíduos, e muitos outros, são todos praticantes dos Mistérios, e sabem muito bem qual é a direcção do mundo. Muitos dos juízes também pertencem a sociedades secretas. Esta gente está por todo o lado e foram todos doutrinados na filosofia dos Mistérios.
Acreditam que chegaram ao ponto mais alto da sua evolução, e que têm a sabedoria necessária para governar o resto da humanidade. Acreditam que existem apenas algumas mentes maduras no planeta e que esses poucos de intelecto superior precisam de guiar a humanidade. Consideram-se a si mesmo 'Iluminados'.
Tudo isto é um facto e pode ser verificado nos seus próprios escritos. E, a não ser que estejamos dispostos a abrir a nossa mente e pesquisar sobre este assunto, continuaremos a ser enganados.

A chegada da Nova Ordem Mundial (New World Order) é baseada numa filosofia oculta conhecida por 'Doutrina Luciferiana Pura' (Pure Luciferian Doctrine) ou Iluminismo. A simbologia desta religião está em todo o lado.

Fritjof Capra on the Unity of All Things, One

The most important characteristic of the Eastern world view- one could almost say the essence of it- is the awareness of the unity and mutual interrelation of all things and events, the experience of all phenomena in the world as manifestations of a basic oneness. All things are seen as interdependent and inseparable parts of this cosmic whole; as different manifestations of the same ultimate reality. (Capra,The Tao of Physics, 1975)

In ordinary life, we are not aware of the unity of all things, but divide the world into separate objects and events. This division is useful and necessary to cope with our everyday environment, but it is not a fundamental feature of reality. It is an abstraction devised by our discriminating and categorising intellect. To believe that our abstract concepts of separate ‘things’ and ‘events’ are realities of nature is an illusion. The central aim of Eastern mysticism is to experience all the phenomena in the world as manifestations of the same ultimate reality. This reality is seen as the essence of the universe, underlying and unifying the multitude of things and events we observe. The Hindus call it Brahman, The Buddhists Dharmakaya (The Body of Being) or Tathata (Suchness) and the Taoists Tao; each affirming that it transcends our intellectual concepts and defies further explanation. This ultimate essence, however, cannot be separated from its multiple manifestations. It is central to the very nature to manifest itself in myriad forms which come into being and disintegrate, transforming themselves into one another without end.

A careful analysis of the process of observation in atomic physics has shown that the subatomic particles have no meaning as isolated entities, but can only be understood as interconnections between the preparation of an experiment and the subsequent measurement. Quantum theory thus reveals a basic oneness of the universe. It shows that we cannot decompose the world into independently existing smallest units. As we penetrate into matter, nature does not show us any isolated ‘basic building blocks’, but rather appears as a complicated web of relations between the various parts of the whole. Problem of the One and the ManyBoth Indian and Greek Philosophy originated from the correct realization that there must be One thing that is common to, and connects, the Many things, and further that Motion (activity, change) was also central to existence.

All things come out of the one, and the one out of all

Though One, Brahman is the cause of the many. Brahman is the unborn (aja) in whom all existing things abide. The One manifests as the many, the formless putting on forms. (Rig Veda ~ 1200 B.C.)The fundamental problem of the One and the Many (which is at the very heart of human conceptual knowledge of Reality) is the belief that One thing could never be understood with human reason, language and logic, as these require relationships between two or more things; The problem of the one and the many in metaphysics and theology is insoluble: We have the universe of individuals which is not self-sufficient and in some sense rests on Brahman, but the exact nature of the relation between them is a mystery. … All ordinary human experience is conceptual in nature, i.e. is organized under the categories in which we ordinarily think. However, Brahman is said to be predicateless ( no concepts apply to it): concepts presuppose division, and Brahman is a unity. How, then, is any form of awareness of Brahman possible for human beings?

The solution to this problem is actually very simple. One Infinite, Eternal Space exists with the properties of a Wave Medium. Thus Motion, as the wave Motion of Space, is the property of Space, and is necessarily connected to Space as it is Space which is moving! And once we have this connection between the One thing Space, and the many things, i.e. matter as the Spherical Wave Motion of Space, then we can in fact form concepts and logic (which require two necessarily connected things, i.e. the wave Motion of Space.)

Fritjof Capra: A Teoria dos Sistemas Vivos

Fritjof Capra nasceu em Viena de Áustria em 1939. Estudou na Universidade da sua cidade natal com Werner Heisenberg - o pai do Principio da Incerteza da Mecânica Quântica. Doutorado em 1966 (Ph.D.), foi professor e investigador nas Universidades de Orsay, em Paris (66-68), California, USA (68-70), Stanford Linear Accelerator Centre e no Imperial College, em Londres. Publicou inúmeros estudos e fez palestras sobre as implicações filosóficas das ciências modernas. Os seus trabalhos mais notáveis foram: The Tao of Physics (está traduzido em português), The Turning Point (1982) e o seu mais recente livro The Web of Life (1997).

Do ponto de vista de Capra, a ciência moderna nasceu com o desenvolvimento do pensamento filosófico que levou à divisão entre o espirito e matéria, e entre a mente e o corpo. Esta divisão pode ser traçada e seguida a partir da Idade da Razão e do Iluminismo, particularmente com os trabalhos de Galileo Galilei, Rene Descartes e Isaac Newton. A revolução científica moderna começou com Galileo Galilei, quando ele restringiu o papel da ciência a todos os fenómenos que pudessem ser mensuráveis. A conceptualização de um mundo racional e mensurável continuou com Descartes, com a criação do pensamento analítico, onde os comportamentos dos fenómenos complexos foram estudados analisando as propriedades das suas partes. Finalmente, o mundo foi reduzido a uma máquina perfeita, governada por fórmulas matemáticas, quando Newton descobriu as leis da gravidade. A visão mecanicista do mundo que se seguiu proporcionou avanços tecnológicos tremendos no nosso sistema económico e social; no entanto, as consequências sociais de tais avanços contribuiram para uma divisão cada vez maior entre os ricos e os pobres, e criou um ambiente no qual a vida se tornou fisica e mentalmente insalubre: ar poluído, ruído enervante, congestão de tráfego, contaminação química, risco de radiação, e muitas outras fontes de desiquilibrio fisico e mental. Com a rejeição do 'mundo máquina', Capra voltou à noção de universo vivo, orgânico e espiritual. Ele afirma que a sociedade se move em direcção de um novo paradigma, baseado na consciência das relações essenciais e da interdependência de todos os fenómenos - físicos, biológicos, psicológicos, sociais e culturais.
Este paradigma tem início com uma nova compreensão dos sistemas vivos, onde os organismos internos dispõem de capacidades intrínsecas para se auto-regular e criar estruturas complexas novas, enquanto num contínuo estado de caos.
Isso explica como se combinam as células para formar tecidos, tecidos para formar orgãos, orgãos para criar organismos, e organismos para formar sistemas sociais. Esta capacidade natural dos organismos criarem novas estruturas, materializa-se através de um padrão de troca contínua de energia e matéria, no interior dos organismos, e entre os organismos e o meio exterior vivo. De um ponto de vista sociológico, a contínua troca de energia e matéria entre organismos tem o mesmo significado conceptual que uma troca contínua de informação - conversação e diálogo - que ocorre entre povos e sociedades.

A Macaca Que Sabia Demais

Lembro-me ainda de uma fotografia sépia, impressa numa revista feminina, cujo nome já esqueci, que mostrava o meu irmão do meio em camuflado de guerra, com um banjo indígena de quatro cordas à tiracolo, e um pequeno saguim empoleirado sobre o ombro.
Ele sorria com o ar feliz de quem desce do barco egípcio que conduz as almas ao outro lado do tempo. Chegara da Guiné.
A pequena macaca agarrava-se-lhe aos cabelos, com o ar espantado de quem vira o flash de um fotógrafo pela primeira vez, com a mesma ânsia que a prendera á bananeira original de onde fora raptada.
Estávamos no Verão e os dias corriam amenos. A macaca, curiosa, como todos os primatas, depois de haver fatigado o olhar pela interminável imensidão aquática do Atlântico, sobressaltava-lhe a mente os infindáveis prodígios que contemplava.
Meu irmão trouxera-a para casa como se fôra uma espécie de 'pequeno polegar'. Ele era um homem muito belo, de traços clássicos e compleição espartana. Decidira há muito, se o fenómeno não era meramente congénito, que todos os deserdados da fortuna era seus protegidos.
O pequeno saguim quando conheceu os cantos à casa - na altura a família ainda estava reunida e éramos todos jovens com um futuro promissor, que se esperguiçava languidamente em infindáveis tardes de um Verão eterno -, descobriu que o local da sua preferência, para dormir, era sobre o aparelho de televisão, enquanto este se conservava quente, indiferente ao ruído e aos flashes de sequência de imagem que, aprendera desde a sua chegada, faziam parte intrínseca do universo dos homens.
O segundo lugar da sua eleição, durante o dia, era uma enorme janela que se debruçava sobre a baía. Nesses dias a casa tinha ainda o privilégio de espraiar as suas vistas sobre o mar, livre de terminais petrolíferos e cais para descargas de carvão.
Era singular, olhar aquele pequeno ser, sentado como 'O Pensador' de Rodin, em frente às vidraças da janela contemplando a calma baía.
Primeiro pensámos que era uma espécie de nostalgia da sua primeira travessia marítima; depois chegámos à conclusão que ele tentava, à força da perseverança, eliminar a lonjura das águas que separam os continentes, para ver a sua terra natal.
Quando o Outono se fez lentamente Inverno, e as aves abandonaram os beirais, silenciando o canto das matinas, já o pequeno animal tinha definitivamente ignorado o seu local sobre a televisão, e passava os dias contando as pequenas gotas de chuva que tamborilavam nos vidros da janela.
-- Está com saudades das andorinhas, disse minha mãe com o coração agitado.
O meu irmão era quem sofria mais perante a estoica decisão do animal.
-- Lembra-se da mãe e dos irmãozinhos que deixou na mata, alvitrou um amigo para amenizar o drama.
O bicho começou a deixar de comer e mantinha-se durante dias na posição que Rodin imortalizou em estátua, de uma maneira tão absolutamente caricata que se tornava trágica. Já ninguém conseguia suportar a imagem do infeliz animal na sua lenta agonia.
-- Aprendeu a meditar, concluiu a minha vizinha espirita que admirava a lógica frustrante e insondável de Krishnamurti. "Da próxima vez virá como pessoa."
Toda a gente do bairro, nós incluídos, cada vez que entrávamos em casa, tinhamos o acto peregrino de ir olhar a macaca que conseguia ver África através dos oceanos.
Os dias foram correndo cada vez mais frios. Chegaram as tempestades e o mar entumeceu-se em ostensivas vagas coroadas de espuma, com que o vento chicoteava o universo. Havia uma névoa imperceptível que roubava ao mundo a realidade.
Foi a última vez que vi no seu olhar inteligente a procura do meu. Vacilou por um momento entre a apatia e o espanto. Tocava com os seus deditos negros a frieza húmida das vidraças como se, de alguma forma, tentasse apreender pelo tacto a natureza daquela realidade alienígena aonde fôra parar.
-- Aprendeu a pensar, exclamou a minha mãe aflita. "E isso é uma abominação. Alguma desgraça está para acontecer."
Começou por recusar as bananas que tão difícil e dispendiosamente lhe conseguíamos arranjar. Decidiu-se a comer coisas improváveis, como cordões de sapatos e cartões de visita, que meu pai deixava sobre a secretária. nunca soubemos se era uma espécie de vingança por se encontrar naquele mundo hostil, ou se um gosto inusitado pelo sabor da tinta de impressão.
O meu irmão desesperou, saiu de casa e embebedou-se durante três dias. Não sabia o que fazer com o animal que o tinha traído com a indiferença, que é a forma mais rara de paixão.
-- Acabará por morrer de saudades, afirmou apologeticamente a minha mãe.
-- Todos temos que morrer de alguma coisa, respondeu meu irmão, "ao menos que morra de um sentimento imponderável que não é traduzido no resto dos idiomas dos homens."
Nunca compreendi a lógica da sua asserção, mas percebi que se tratava de uma declaração de amor por aquele animal, que lhe inundara a alma.
Quando meu irmão voltou á tardinha, a pequena macaca jazia morta sobre o beiral da janela. Adquirira, como os humanos, o hábito de descansar a cabeça sobre o braço. Mas estava morta.
Meu irmão, depois de tantas mortes inúteis de camaradas, que presenciara na guerra em África, ficou destroçado. Acredito que aquele animal significava para ele todo o horror por que tinha passado e, ao mesmo tempo, a sua derradeira esperança. Nunca mais voltou a ser o mesmo.
Minha mãe continua a afirmar que a saudade é um excesso de pensamento.
Enterrámo-la como um filho adoptivo, num canteiro do quintal. Afinal, tinha ganho pelo sofrimento o direito de pertencer á espécie humano, ou melhor, de ter conhecido antecipadamente a ideia de morte, que é a reverência, se não a submissão, a algo superior. Por outras palavras, teve a ousadia, só concedida aos seres humanos, de perscrutar a face de Deus.

O QUE SÃO ARQUÉTIPOS

Como já falei, em textos anteriores, e voltarei com certeza a falar deste tema - que será transversal a todo este Blog - é bom definir exactamente o que se entende por Arquétipos - de que toda a gente fala e nunca ninguém explica coisa nenhuma.

Muito embora o termo 'arquétipo' tenha uma longa história, foi o psicólogo Carl Jung que o utilizou, para explicar aquilo que observou e constatou na natureza humana.
Ele disse que os arquétipos são uma tendência, ou uma 'queda' instintiva, do inconsciente humano para expressar certos motivos ou temas. Alguns dos temas, como a morte e o renascimento, aparecem ao longo da História e também nas culturas contemporâneas. Jung entendia-os como universais, e como vivências inatas, àquilo que ele chamou o inconsciente colectivo.
Tornam-se particularmente evidentes nos credos religiosos, na literatura e nas artes.

Uma das mais importantes características dos arquétipos é que 'não são' aprendizagens de comportamento; são comportamentos que de alguma forma nos são inatos, ou formulados e aceites inconscientemente.
Por exemplo, uma criança que se perde de sua mãe, entra em pânico aos gritos e corre à sua procura. A criança não teve que aprender como sentir medo por se ver separada dos seus pais. Não teve que ser ensinada a sentir terror e fazer tudo ao seu alcance para voltar a encontrar a sua mãe. É uma resposta universal de todas as crianças, sentir dor emocional pela perda dos progenitores, e de fazerem tudo, tanto física como simbolicamente, para reestabelecer o contacto.
Pode-se dizer que a criança experimentou um comportamento arquetípico. Este comportamento inato foi provavelmente criado ao longo de milhões de anos, durante os quais, estar separado dos pais, significava a morte provável.

Este 'comportamento de ligação' é comum a todos os mamíferos e é um exemplo de respostas arquetípicas. O impulso de encontrar um companheiro e reproduzir-se também é um arquétipo, tal como fazer o ninho ou construir uma casa, cuidar dos mais jovens, e o impulso de ganhar o respeito no seu grupo social. Existe, de alguma forma, em cada um de nós, um impulso para a 'totalidade', e uma emergência para o 'florescimento' do nosso próprio ser. Todos nós vivemos essas experiências, incluindo a do nascimento e da morte, de uma maneira ou de outra, em conjunto com os nossos companheiros humanos, do passado ou do presente. A grandeza dessas experiências de vida são muitas das vezes expressas em temas de arte, ou mitos, ou símbolos como a mandala, a cruz, o pôr ou o nascer do sol. O rapazinho que se perdeu dos pais, e a enormidade do que sentiu, é contado em muitos contos populares como 'A criança na Floresta'. Esses símbolos e essas histórias fazem-nos lembrar, de alguma maneira, o mistério que está envolvido no facto de que estamos a partilhar uma experiência individual de ser homem ou mulher, e que isso aconteceu a pessoas desde o começo da raça humana, e que continuará a acontecer mesmo depois de não estarmos cá. Por isso, mesmo que a nossa vida seja um acontecimento pessoal, ela também faz parte de um inconcebível e imenso continuum. A nossa vida pessoal representa temas, ou padrões, que foram vividos milhares ou milhões de vezes antes de nós.

É esta experiência colectiva que pode ser considerada um arquétipo. Por exemplo, se pudessemos sobrepôr todas as caras de homens e de mulheres humanos vivos actualmente, em duas imagens separadas, o resultado seria o arquétipo gráfico do macho humano e da fémea humana. As imagens incluiriam todas as características de tipos raciais, graus de inteligência e honra.

Jung diferenciava instinto e arquétipos. Muito embora ambos sejam potencialidades universais dentro de nós, os instintos são tendências hereditárias dirigidas ao comportamento, tal como o sexo ou a resposta fuga ou luta. Jung diz que um arquétipo é uma tendência hereditária dirigida a certas respostas mentais ou sensitivas. Por exemplo, o mito do Herói/Heroína, ou a figura do salvador, existe no mundo inteiro e em todas as culturas.
Porque acreditava que os sonhos expressavam frequentemente as tendências arquetípicas dentro do indivíduo, Jung, voltou-se para os mitos, histórias de fadas ou motivos religiosos, para ilustrar o conteúdo dos sonhos. Vendo aparecer esses temas nos sonhos de pessoas que nunca tinham estudado as religiões do mundo ou a mitologia, Jung acreditou que longe dessas histórias míticas e religiosas terem sido inventadas conscientemente por autores históricos, elas tinham surgido directamente do inconsciente em sonhos ou visões, e tinham apenas sido contadas. Qualquer pessoa que tenha dedicado algum tempo a explorar os significados dos seus sonhos simpatizará com este ponto de vista.

No entanto, há ainda uma não menos importante maneira de abordar os arquétipos. É aquela que considera os processos da natureza, que reflecte os processos que são partes fundamentais do funcionamento cósmico. Por exemplo, as estrelas. As estrelas nascem da morte de outras estrelas e sistemas solares. O nascimento a seguir à morte. A ressurreição e a nova vida que surge de um cataclismo de destruição. Também a própria estrutura do universo, tal como é compreendida na Física Quântica, que mostra como o imanente aqui e agora, o limitado e o físico real, são ao mesmo tempo um e a mesma coisa, quanto o intemporal e o transcendente.
A experiência pessoal de ser homem ou mulher, de nascer, viver e morrer, são tudo expressões de fenómenos cósmicos, e são muito mais profundamente entendidos se forem vistos nesta óptica. Este padrões arquetípicos são verdadeiros não apenas para fenómenos cósmicos mas também a cada minuto da vida quotidiana.

A expressão destas forças arquetípicas reside no âmago de todas as grandes religiões. Como refere Barbara Sproul no seu livro Primal Myths, nós infelizmente confundimos a narrativa mitológica, de um padrão arquetípico, com a descrição histórica. Olhamos para as mitologias do passado e vemo-las como declarações de ignorância, em vez de as tomarmos como magníficos resumos de discernimento dos grandes arquétipos que inundam as nossas vidas. Vemos Jesus com um caracter histórico, que nos foi apresentado como uma espécie de deus, em vez da espantosa expressão da Vida a falar connosco em declarações e acções que são verdades universais.

Vemos essa sabedoria, essa resenha perspicaz de discernimento, no panteão de deuses e deusas que foi eregido pelas culturas ancestrais. Muitos desses deuses são expressões de temas arquetípicos, tais como a morte, o renascimento ou a feminilidade. Um cão pastor tem muito mais propensão para conduzir manadas do que outra raça de cão. Através do ritual e da adoração dos deuses, talvez os povos ancestrais conseguissem alcançar reservatórios similares de força e cura inatos em si mesmos. Sem isso um indivíduo poderia achar muito difícil encarar o facto de que a morte espera no final da vida, ou de permitir o emergir da sexualidade na puberdade. Da experiência colectiva podiam surgir maneiras de lidar com esses problemas, ou forças, que não residiam directamente na personalidade consciente das pessoas.
O lado negativo é o facto de, por vezes, a pessoa se poder identificar inteiramente com o arquétipo. Por exemplo, alguém que encontra o arquétipo de Cristo e começa a acreditar que é a encarnação de Cristo e a sua missão é salvar o mundo.

Todos nós vivemos num poderoso arquétipo chamado paradigma. Outra palavras que significam o mesmo são: mentalidade, concepção do mundo, pensamento de grupo. Por exemplo, durante o século XIX, o paradigma, ou a concepção do mundo, era descrita pela Física desse tempo. Parecia ter todas as respostas e via o átomo como a forma fundamental da matéria. Assim foi declarado que não havia mais nada além da forma física. Isso levou a uma visão do mundo a que chamámos materialismo. A concepção do mundo materialista era um paradigma. Muitas pessoas viveram-no e acreditaram-no. Isso teve imensa influência sobre os indivíduos, e ainda tem. Criou, ou ajudou a criar, a maneira como viam o mundo e como se relacionavam com os acontecimentos da vida. Como refere a Wikipedia, "Lord Kelvin declarou: 'Não há nada de novo para ser descoberto na Física. Tudo o que resta é a medição cada vez mais rigorosa'." Mas em 1906 Max Planck publicou aquilo que ficou conhecido por "Teoria Quântica". Esta, em conjunto com a Teoria de Relatividade de Einstein, e tudo o que resultou delas, revolucionaram a Física e originaram uma mudança radical de paradigma, a qual muito lentamente tem vindo a fazer a sua incursão na consciência mundial. Neste novo paradigma o átomo deixou de ser a particula fundamental. A observação Humana, ou consciência, passou a ser o factor determinante na maneira como se manifestam as partículas atómicas.

Assim sendo, se tiveres consciência que a tua concepção do mundo é muito provavelmente formada por um paradigma, ou mentalidade, que é a expressão de um arquétipo, a tomada de consciência desse facto, dá-te a possibilidade de não seres controlado pelo arquétipo, e a capacidade de poderes ampliá-lo ou rejeitá-lo.

EROS ou NARCISO?

"... compreendemos o poder erótico da alma, no seu nível mais íntimo, como sendo uma sede das profundezas do nosso ser.

Essa sede só pode ser aplacada quando atingimos o fim para o qual fomos feitos: a união com o nosso Arquétipo, o Deus - aquilo que a tradição Ortodoxa chama de "deificação".

O APOCALIPSE

A psicologia de C.G. Jung é a única escola de psicologia que acredita que há dois centros na psique - o ego, como centro da consciência, e o arquétipo do Self(*) como sendo o centro do que ele chama a psique objectiva, ou o inconsciente colectivo. Outras escolas de psicologia constatam dois reinos diferenciados na psique, o consciente e o inconsciente, mas apenas Jung é assertivo quanto à existência de dois centros totalmente independentes.
(*)Self = Si - Numa acepção geral, entende-se por self aquilo que define a pessoa na sua individualidade e subjectividade, isto é, a sua essência. O termo self em português pode ser traduzido por «si» ou por «eu», mas a tradução portuguesa é pouco usada, em termos psicológicos).

Ao falarmos de arquétipos, é bom notar que a experiência de Jung com arquétipos é de que eles são padrões dinâmicos, campos de potencial, que têm tanto intencionalidade energética como completa independência. São a natureza crua no coração da nossa psique e, como tal, servem como material estruturante dos nossos complexos, tanto 'bons' como 'maus'. O arquétipo central, o Self, é o centro transpessoal da psique, e age como instrumento e agente da transcendência. Como tal, é indistinguível da imagem-Deus.

A palavra «Apocalipse» (revelação) significa em Grego "destapar o que esteve escondido." Por outras palavras, a revelação de uma nova verdade. Este processo opera em quatro fases: revelação, julgamento, destruição e um novo nascimento. Se olharmos para há dois séculos atrás, veremos a 'revelação', o surgimento, de novas correntes, de novas verdades científicas, psicológicas e sociais; veremos que julgamentos e avaliações foram feitos com base nessas novas verdades; veremos o colapso de credos e instituições que foram suportados por essas verdades anteriores, e que se têm vindo a mostrar disfuncionais dentro do contexto das actuais verdades; e notaremos os rebentos de uma outra visão mundial tentando florescer. A destruição e o renascimento acontecem simultaneamente, ainda que o uso popular do termo apocalipse tenha um sentido de completa destruição.

De volta ao arquétipo. Lá porque existe um arquétipo nos humanos isso não significa que ele esteja activo. Pode jazer adormecido durante toda uma vida humana, ou durante o tempo de uma era. Aquilo que Jung vê que está a acontecer na nossa era é que o Self, o arquétipo central de ordem e significado, foi activado no inconsciente colectivo. E, quando o Self é activado, isso significa uma mudança cultural colectiva a nível mundial. No cerne de 'cada' visão cultural mundial, existe a imagem-Deus, seja ela Cristã, Muçulmana, Hindu ou seja o que fôr. (Os Budistas não têm subscrição com Deus, mas acreditam no Infinito que, do ponto de vista psicológico, vai dar ao mesmo.) Mas, quando o Self é accionado, o processo de "destapar o que esteve escondido", o Apocalipse, a "revelação da nova verdade", toma lugar. Isto é um processo que demora gerações.

Se olharmos para trás, é bem possivel que tenha levado seiscentos anos para que a Cristandade emergisse até se tornar uma 'religião'. Muitos dos temas de Jesus são tão antigos quanto Ezequiel, que se referia a ele como "Filho do Homem" (simbolicamente, "Filho de Deus"), que era a maneira como Jesus se referia a si próprio. Muitos dos primeiros pais da Igreja acreditavam que os Salmos prefiguravam Jesus. Depois de Jesus morrer, levou mais trezentos anos para a Cristandade se solidificar em religião, Não foi porque Jesus apareceu em cena, fez milagres e pregou sermões magníficos que, de repente, surgiu o Cristianismo. De maneira nenhuma. Jesus articulou e manifestou o que tinha vindo a crescer gradualmente durante um longo período de tempo. E isto aconteceu enquanto os deuses Greco-Romanos perdiam importância na imaginação da "minoria criativa".
O grito que Nietzsche lançou em 1882, "Deus está morto", foi ouvido em todo o Império Romano 2000 anos antes, num grito semelhante "O Grande Pan está morto". Por outras palavras, a imagem-Deus prevalente do mundo Greco-Romano tinha perdido a ressonância e a relevância nas profundezas da psique colectiva do mundo Greco-Romano. Mas, ao mesmo tempo, uma outra maturação tomava lugar, que os velhos deuses não conseguiam igualar, mas que Jesus expressou e manifestou de uma maneira que ressoou nas profundezas da alma colectiva daquele tempo.

Pode-se dizer que São Paulo foi o psicólogo-mor daqueles dias. O que ele fez, de facto, foi ajudar o mundo Romano a assimilar conscientemente a nova imagem-Deus, algo que já estava em ebulição na alma colectiva mas que precisava uma assimilação consciente. Se a imagem-Deus emergente não fôr assimilada conscientemente, então ela expressa-se inconscientemente - como oposto - nos acontecimentos do dia-a-dia. E isso faz parte de todo o fenómeno "Red & Blue America", para não falar da maluquice Arabe-Israelita.

Joseph Henderson, o único psicoanalista vivo que trabalhou com Jung, afirma que Jung um dia lhe disse que gostava de ler a Biblia, não apenas para obter 'visões' espirituais mas, sobretudo, por causa do seu significado psicológico. Jung achava que ler a Biblia lhe garantia um grande entendimento psicológico. Como Thomas Cahill escreveu, a história da Biblia hebraica é "a história de uma consciência a evoluir, uma consciência que atravessa diversos estágios de desenvolvimento." Enquanto muitos dos temas mais importantes do Velho Testamento (especialmente o Pentateuco) são originados na Idade Mítica, todo o Novo Testamento foi escrito não muito depois do fecho da Idade Axial. As caracteristicas que definem a Idade Axial, segundo o filósofo Karl Jaspers, que inventou o termo "Idade Axial", era a saída da Idade Mítica para a era em que "o homem se torna cosciente de Ser como um todo, de si próprio e das suas limitações". A consciência, escreveu Jaspers, torna-se "consciente de si". Jesus pode muito bem ter sido o melhor exemplar desta consciência emergente. Por isso o Novo Testamento (assim como a filosofia e a ciência Grega pré-Socrática, que tem muito mais o sentir da vida espiritual do que a seca filosofia e ciência Ocidental, que tende para a parcialidade racional) foi a primeira expressão após a Idade Axial. Por isso esta expressão é tão vital. Era o reflexo do que Rudolf Otto em The Idea of the Holy chamava de numinous, um termo usado para descrever a espantosa intensidade emocional comum a todas as experiências espirituais, independentemente das culturas ou seitas. É por isso que Jung sentia ter aprendido tanto psicologicamente ao ler a Biblia.

Mas já nos afastámo séculos desse tempo. Alienámo-nos completamente da natureza e do seu papel essencial na psique humana, e o nosso estado de conhecimento e desenvolvimento psíquico são tão diferentes de há dois mil anos atrás que, para muitas pessoas, a Biblia já não tem a mesma qualidade vivencial que transfigurava as pessoas desses tempos.

Por isso um novo processo de redefinição espiritual e maturação psicológica tem vindo a tomar lugar, pelo menos, nos últimos dois séculos. Se acreditarmos nas sondagens públicas, Deus está bem e de saúde. Mas quando olhamos para a produção da "minoria criativa" ocidental nos últimos dois séculos, fica claro que já não se encontra ressonância nem significado na tradição espiritual que foi conhecida por Cristandade. Hegel foi o primeiro a soletrá-lo em 1827 "Deus morreu - Deus está morto - este é o mais apavorante de todos os pensamentos, de que tudo o que é eterno e verdadeiro não é, essa negação por si mesma é encontrada em Deus." Este credo espalhou-se durante todo o século dezanove na cultura Europeia, e foi repescado nos anos 20 pela cultura Americana (É do que trata exactamente The Great Gatsby). As sondagens de opinião pública são totalmente incorrectas naquilo que diz respeito a "quão religiosa é a América". Todos os que enchem as Mega-Igrejas são os mesmos que engolem o consumismo/tecnocrático/utilitário que caracteriza a vida americana da actualidade.

Resumindo: o "arquétipo do Apocalipse" é a activação do arquétipo do Self - o arquétipo central do significado - que traz consigo um novo ponto de vista mundial, uma nova imagem-Deus, um novo relacionamento com o Divino, e um novo estágio de maturação psicológico para todo o planeta. E digo "todo o planeta" porque este processo parece estar a actuar por si mesmo em todo o mundo, embora a ritmos e velocidades diferentes, dependendo da profundidade a que as raízes culturais estão estabelecidas. Mas é evidente que a Africa perdeu o vigor espiritual de outros tempos, e a India e a China estão ambas numa qualquer espécie de crise espiritual, semelhante ao que aconteceu no Ocidente durante os anos de 1800.

Aquilo que estamos a atravessar não é mais do que a redefinição da relação entre o Homem e Deus, o seu Criador. É o arquétipo do Apocalipse em acção!
